Installation Problem

I received a copy of Vista Business from the Power Together program
today, and am having some trouble installing. I get through all of the
required input (license key, language, etc.) and it begins installing,
but my problem is when it reboots. When I try to boot from the hard
drive, it doesn't go anywhere, it gets stuck on the black screen. If I
try to boot from the CD, it starts all over again, as I expected. I'm
fairly sure that it is supposed to boot from the hard drive to continue
installation. but I am unable to. Any help?

When it hangs that way, remove the dvd and reset. Once it starts booting
back into Windows Setup reinsert the dvd. A few systems behave this way. I
have one that did for several builds during the beta. When you reset you
should see the boot options screen briefly and Windows Setup will be one
entry. It should default to that entry until installation is complete when
it is removed.

That is my problem. I cannot get into Windows setup without the DVD.
Without the DVD, it cannot boot. With the DVD, it gives me a boot
manager, but when I select Windows Setup, it starts over.

I've been playing around with it trying to get it to work. When I have
my optical drive set to first, it boots to the DVD, and when I have my
HDD set first, it hangs on a black screen with the little white
blinking line.

The problem was with the hard drive. I put a new one in, and I'm
running off of Vista now.
