Hi,
I have build a windows 2000 server and configured it to be
a RIS server. Everything works fine.
When I boot a pc using a network card, I get an IP adres
and all. The RIS installation screens are loaded. This all
works well.
When I select a windows XP image, RIS tries to load it and
then fails. After a long time, I get the message:
stop:0x0000006B Process_initialization_failed.
This happens with a customized install script.
When I try to install windows 2000 prof by using the same
server, it works without any problems.
There is also something else, which is very strange. This
error appears on the screen after a very long time (30
minutes).
The hardware I use is as follows:
client pc:
- 3c905c NIC
- MSI KM2M mainboard
- AMD Duron 1300+ processor
- 256 Mb of ram
- Maxtor 40 Gb hdd PATA
Server pc:
- PIII 500
- 10 Gb HDD
- 3c905B NIC
- Intel mainboard
- 128 Mb RAM
- windows 2000 server installed incl SP3
These two machines are connected by a 10 Mb hub
(Synoptics), and are the only two machines connected to
this hub.
Please,
If you have some suggestions, please let me know
Thanks in advance.
With regards,
Pascal
