I have recently used the auto-update feature of XP to try
and install the latest updates for Office 2003, Visio
2003, Project 2003 and Outlook 2003 and have encountered
nothing but problems.

The updates seem to download OK but will not install. The
errors I get are all basically the same, so I'll just
describe one, Visio 2003.

With the original installation CD inserted in the drive I
attempt to install the patches. Disk churns away for
several minutes (files have already been downloaded OK)
and eventually generates and error that 'required
installation file not found SKU151.CAB. At this point
instalation terminates.

It is quite correct. The file mentioned does not exist
either on my local machine or on the installation CD
(genuine Microsoft disk, product properly (and
legitimately) activated). So it appears that I can't
install the patches to protect my system.

Anyone offer any suggestions? (short of installing
Linux :) )

Hi, Has anyone been able to solve the 'where is' issue of the sku151.cab
file? I am still trying to activate my Visio 2003 professional and can't
without it!

Thanks so much.

Dovid

Hi,

SKU151.CAB is located on the standalone Microsoft Visio Professional 2003 Upgrade CD.

When the CD or a copy of the CD loaded on the harddisk, and the dialog box that request it is pointed to the CD or that directory, it works just fine (and it may ask for another Visio file that is on the same CD or in the same directory.

regards,

Rob.
