The Problem
Yesterday I attempted to fit a B2C2 Satellite PCI DVB
Card into my machine. Having fitted the card I booted the
machine and the card was detected. I received the
message "Finished installing software for B2C2 Broadband
Receiver PCI Adapter". So far so good.
If I now look at the list of installed hardware on the
machine the card is now listed and no error messages are
displayed.
When I reboot the machine following the installation of
the card the following occurs.
The machine started to reboot. It closes down OK but then
as it starts to come up I would see the windows XP logo
and then the machine would start to reboot again! This
time it would boot as far as a screen telling me "Windows
did not start successfully?? A recent hardware or
software change may have caused this!" I am now given the
option to try starting windows normally (if I try this
the start-up fails) or to start in safe mode or to
restore the machine to its previous settings prior to
installing the card. The only way I can get the machine
to boot up is to restore the previous settings!
I have tried installing on a number of occasions now and
always the same problem occurs. Can anyone point me in
the right direction as to what is going wrong here? Can
you suggest what I can try to complete the installation
successfully?
I look forward to hearing from you.
