Hello

I was installing Crystal Enterprise 9 on my machine when installation got corrupted. The installation asked me to reboot the machine but I forgot to take out the CD. Upon reboot, it started running another instance of new installation and closing that installation closed everything...

Anyway, to cut short, I cleaned the registry for 'Crystal' and also deleted the dirctories in 'Program Files' (the system has since bee rebooted many times). However, everytime I try to re-install, I get error that installation is in progress

I have following questions

1. Is there any entry in registry that can inform of installation in progress. Found following article from Seagate website but no avai

http://support.businessobjects.com/library/kbase/articles/c2006745.as

2. Someone was telling me that 'Installer' folder under 'C:\Windows' is used for that purpose. Does anyone have any information on that

I think this is more of a Windows installation problem then a Crystal issue

Help is appreciated

Hi,

If you have trouble with Windows installer try this

(Courtesy of Mark Ferguson MS_MVP)

1. From Start > Run type regsvr32 /i msi.dll
2. From Start > Run type sfc /scannow
(take care of the space behind the forward slash)

Good luck
