I have always wondered how a generic system update purchased at a
computer store resolves any modules that a written specifically by the
computer manufacturer that may override generic modules.

For example Toshiba has its own Power Management module. Clicking on the
control panel Power Management gives a message to close it and use the
Toshiba module.

Even if they save the old modules first what would happen if later you
did a complete reinstall due to problems.

I know that all manufactures customize the operating system that comes
preinstalled. Their name appears everywhere.

back up any files involved and use at your own risk. Batteries not
included. Not for internal use. Don't run with knives.

If you do a clean install there won't be Toshiba branded crap in there. If
you want the branding, use the Toshiba restore disc or method.
