Installation Feedback

The installation is lacking in feedback for the user.

Elements of the install leave the machine sitting whilst the screen shows no
progress or activity at all. The hard drive is active all the time but there
needs to me more visual feedback for the end user.

An upgrade took over 3 hours with most of it running at one point -
verifying compatibility - It looked like it had basically hung up (other than
hard drive access) Hours later the file copy started.

The start up screen I hope will change but again complete barebones.

Things in general look good but the install needs a lot of work, many Linux
installers look much slicker than the latest and greatest Windows (I am a
window/linux user so please don't start any wars!!)

Well, I have to agree with Chrismoo, There is a need for a way of feedback
input during installation as I couldn't get it finished, despite numerous
downloads, DVD burning and so on. Too many error messages with
non-descriptive numbers. The earlier versions of Longhorn were easier to
install. So at least in my case, I will wait for another built ormaybe I
order DVD.
