I'm doing a fresh install of WinXP Pro. I format the
drive using NTFS(Quick Format). I've also tried the full
format.
As the setup files are being copied, i get this error
message:
The file wiascr.dll was not copied correctly.
The file Setup placed on your hard drive is not a valid
Windows XP system image. If you are installing from a CD,
there may be a problem with the Windows XP CD.
To retry, press ENTER.
If you continue to receive this message, contact your
Windows XP supplier or system administrator.
To skip this file, press ESC.
CAUTION: If you skip this file, Setup may not complete
and Windows XP may not work properly.
To quit Setup, press F3
Now, I keep retrying and it seems to keep going, but
then, it stops again and the same error message with a
different file name: paqsp.dll
I have tried using 3 different XP Pro CD's, two of them
brand new out of the package, and I still get this
message.
I have 5 identical clone systems that I am installing xp
on and I have gotten the same messages on 4 of the 5
machines.
If I keep trying the installation, it will finish, but
then I can't install the update "Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0 SP1"
I get the following error message:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;811263
I do what the article says to do and I am then able to
complete the update, but windows just keeps crashing alot
after that.
I know this is a little lengthy, but I hope someone can
tell me what is wrong, or what i'm doing wrong.
Thanks
