Installation Error Graphics Card

Repeated efforts to install RC-1 have failed. The upgrade advisor tells me to
"update [my] graphics card" to enjoy the Aero experience. However, I have
been runing Beta 2 and experiencing Aero with my GeForce 5200 card. The Beta
works fine. I swapped graphics cards and get the same "advice" with a GeForce
6600 card. If I proceed with the installation in spite of the "advice" the
installation hangs on the first reboot and goes no where. Can anyone suggest
a solution?

I had the same problem with my install. Fix was putting in a really old
nVidia video card MX400. My FX5500 won't boot, I've seen several posts about
5200's doing what yours is and there is a 7900 with the same problem posted a
few hours after your post. After finishing the install with the old card, I
was able to get the new nVidia drivers but it still won't run. MS has some
newer drivers but haven't tried them yet. Let me know if you have any luck.

Do you think this fix would work w/ my card. I've upgraded from ati radeon
9250 to radeon x1600. If I go back to 9250 do you think it would install?
Did you try and try putting the fx5500 back in after you installed rc1 to see
if it worked after you upgraded to rc1?
