My Windows XP Home Edition CD Rom has a blue Bic
ballpoint pen ink spot on it and I am certain it has
interfered with many attempts to reinstall XP . I have
submitted a request for assistance from Microsoft Support
today . Hoeever Methylated Spirits has been recommended
to remove Bic ink ( permanent ink ) but the advice was
given with caution regarding its use on a CD . I do not
want to experiment with my OEM Microsoft CD and I do not
think all the CD's I have will be the same as the
Microsoft CD to experiment with . Still , it is an
expensive CD . Can someone here , too , give me
professional advice please ? Thanks , Nick
