Hello everybody,

I can't install Active Directory on a windows 2000 server machine without
getting a message that he needs to make a connection to the network. If I
don't connect to the internet it's impossible to install AD.

Are you saying that you don't have a NIC installed? If so, install the
loopback adapter.

If you do have a NIC installed, provide W2K with the appropriate drivers for
the device.

The machine is looking for a network connection. Try plugging the machine into a hub. Anything that will get the link light on.

First you need a Network card installed, you can just connect it to a
Hub or switch (with nothing else on it) will work fine.
