There are of course work arounds to the WPA that will allow you to install XP to several machines. Many will quote the EULA agreement that comes with the OS as the legal reason you can't do it. This has yet to be challenged in court by anyone willing to do so. The bottom line is that should you need to reinstall the OS you may run into activation problems and doing anything that is considered illegal by Microsoft regarding their OS's is strictly up to you. You after all have to answer to your own conscience. I rather suspect a new user like yourself won't have the ability to do it. I certainly don't advocate it but then I don't advocate taxes and look where that got me. Good luck.
 
By mentioning illegal options you advocate them, otherwise there is no
point to your post..
The workarounds you suggest clearly go against what you agree when you
accept the EULA.
There are more appropriate groups for your unethical ideas and these
newsgroups are not it.
