I am having problems installing XP on my computer. My hard drive is empty.
I try to do this and I get
stuck on the F8 page and cant go any further it lets me pg up, pg dn, and
esc but won't let me push F8 and go further. Can someone please help me with
this issue? Thanks

F8 gets you "safe-mode",w/o an operating system thiers no safe mode to
enter...
Try installing xp cd,boot to xp cd (you may need to enter the BIOS & adjust
for
this,1st boot device priority or similiar),press any key when text
displayed (after
BIOS),at xp cd boot menu, select install xp,agree, the rest should run
auto.If this
is where youre stuck, instead of option to install press r For
recovery,disreguard
the text displayed,simply type:DiskPart Delete the partition,create
one,press ESC
key,type:CHKDSK C: /p After type:EXIT Reboot to xp cd,install xp.....

Try using a different keyboard.

If you have a Microsoft keyboard, you might want to look at
this article. It would appear that the F Lock key on those
keyboards will cause problems during the installation.
