clueless

I'll try help anyone...the "prerequisites disc says I need
Frontpage 2000 which is on disc but get errors when
loading (code 1603 "fatal error during installation". I
read online that I
need to change from Fat32 to NFTS filing system....in help
it tells me I can type in at c prompt... convert
c: /fs:ntfs/v ...which I do then it asks for current
volume label for c drive....here's where I have no clue
and of course help is no help...how about 1 of
you....thanks clueless

Thank you for your timely replies....1 more thing I have
read about possibly losing data on c drive if I switch to
NFTS ...should I be afraid ...also is it possible to
change only D drive as I have a split hard drive...thanks

* Windows 2000 includes the convert.exe utility that allows you to convert
to NTFS without any loss of data. The downside to this is you'll end up with
512 byte clusters which is pretty inefficient, slow, and more prone to
fragmentation. The overhead of traversing a greater number of clusters to
retrieve and commit data will result in a degradation in file system (or
disk I/O) performance. Best to choose NTFS at the time of install.

Always prepare for the worst and have on hand the normal backups of anything
you can not afford to lose.
