Install SystemWorks over Norton AV??

My P3/WXP notebook came with Norton AV
pre-installed. My P3/W98SE desktop has
SystemWorks on it - which I like because it
seems to help reduce crashes. Both units are
online via high-speed always-on connections.

However, the notebook's "subscription" is
running out, and I note that Symantec charges
$25/year to renew.

A new SystemWorks 2003 is only a few dollars on
eBay. I'd prefer to install that on the
notebook, directly over the NAV.

Advice from the experts?

Did you ask yourself 'why would that be'? I'm sure dozens of people are
using it happily, but I seem to see an awful lot of posts from people
who have problems with it, and for some reason the term 'bloatware'
sticks in my mind too.

How about running a quick groups.google.com for 'Systemworks' and seeing
what the average poster seems to think of it?

1) I'd make sure what you're getting from eBay is the real thing; not some
pirated version from China (could contain spyware or worse).
2) Which version of NAV came with your XP notebook?
3) Regardless, I'd recommend uninstalling NAV first *and* going to the
Symantec web-site to download the appropriate version of the NAV removal
tool. Otherwise, you'll likely have problems.
