Due to the MSBlastr.exe, I tried to install SP4 &
security patch on my window 2000 pro machine. The
installation of SP4 is failed and give soem error message
somewhat like 'xxxxx.inf file not found,
please make sure Corypright service is up'. After I
turn off the machine and come back, all the machine does
is rebooting. I am not able to do anything. Can anyone
point me to a direction to fix the problem?

Thanks!

Chi

Did the same thing and have the same problem. Machine
won't boot in safe mode either. Tried to boot from CDROM
but it won't do that either. I'm stumped!! Anyone got any
ideas??

Nick.

If you can get a command prompt up while it's trying to reboot, type
"shutdown -a" to abort the shutdown.

Next open regedit and navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
In the right pane, delete the value: "windows auto update"="msblast.exe"

Follow these directions to patch and clean your computer:

Install the whole file as if you were downloading for
network. It saves everything to the harddrive prior to
installing. Only thing is now I can't get internet
explorer to open any websites. I'm using my laptop with
dsl and found something that talks about the winsock and
having to go under add/remove programs and removing the
Winsock Client but I don't see it. I don't know if this
is because it's a laptop, or because I installed service
pack 4. UGH!!!
