Hi,

I want to install a software package on a host that's in a windows 20003
domain.
Which account should I use?
Should I login as administrator local computer or domain login?
What's the difference?

What will you do?
Thanks

If you wish to install it for use by "All Users" you typically install it as
the
Admin.

My question is if there's a difference between localcomputer administrator
and domain controller administrator when install the software. I'm not sure.
Thanks

Typically I would install the software as the computer's
Administrator. However, it *should* not matter
necessarily as the Domain Admin group is a member of all
WIN2000/WINXP computers local Administrators group.

But, as herb stated, go with the computer's
Administrator. This is how I did it for about 300 users
and had no problems. Just make sure that - if asked -
you select the "for all users on this computer" radio
button. Some software give you the option: for all users
or only for the one logged on currently.

Probably should use the local computer Admin for this -- one, the Domain
Admin shouldn't be logging onto random machines in the network.

(If I am a hacker, I can probably arrange to capture your password if you
logon to MY MACHINE. <really>)
