install serial driver with fixed port name

Hello,

our current software installs a serial driver and then figures out which COM
port name was assigned. How can we ensure that a given port name is used?

Since the Mysteriously Unnamed Software is the entity doing the name
assignment, contacting its tech support for this answer would be your next
logical step.
