hi

been having trouble installing apps since moving my documents folder to a
mapped network drive - get the error message "invalid drive" while trying to
install nero 7, adobe 8 and logitech 10.5 camera software. i think it's
something to do with the temp folders not being where the installers expect
them, but does anyone know a fix? it's a bit of a bummer having to log on as
admin just to install an app you know is safe!

cheers

Hi,

Have you tried right-clicking the installer file and using 'run as
administrator'?

Have you also redirect your Favorites? I've seen many installer packages
give this kind of error when My Documents or Favorites are re-located
(re-directed) to a maped network drive. Happens in Windows XP as well.

The workaround that usually works is to delete the drive mapping that the My
Documents and Favorites is/are redirected to, do the install, then do the
drive mapping again (if it is not done via a logon script).
