When I try to install Microsoft AntiSpyware I get an
error message saying 'Files in Use. Some files that need
to be updated are currently in use. The following
applications are using files that need to be updated by
this set-up. Close these applications and click retry to
continue. AOL SP Schedular.'

This is a new Dell laptop and AOL SP is in the Programmes
list though I haven't installed it myself. Should I
uninstall AOL SP (all AOL programmes) to continue the
Microsoft Anti-Spyware installation???? Or is there
something
different I should do. Advice much appreciated!

If you don't use AOL, then by all means strip all evidence of AOL off of
your machine. That's the only problem with buying a Dell from the Home
division is that they are so junked up with useless software.

Try This,

1. Open Control Panel

2. Click on System Icon to open

3. This will open System Properties

Find the Advanced Tab and click on it

4. With the Advanced tab open, you will see a section
titled Statup and Recovery, Click on the Settings Button.

5. With Startup and Recovery open look under System
failure to see if Automatic restart is checked. If it is,
uncheck it and click the ok button. Then restart your
computer.

Hope this helps you.

I would hit ctrl-alt-delete and see if you can find something in the process
list which corresponds to AOL SP (I don't know what this is, myself!)

If you can, highlight it and choose end-task. Once you get it killed,
resume the Microsoft Antispyware setup.
