I would like to reinstall Advanced server 2000 on a RAID 5 array of 5 ten GB
drives. Considering the amount of patches and related files what size
partition should I set aside? I may also want to introduce some fault
tolerance for the OS. What would be the best option. I will be adding one
160 GB IDE drive to the server.

I really don't bother making the drives larger than 10-20 GB, depending
on their purpose. The one exception is Terminal Services. Those drives
I make much larger as the often need to accomodate profiles and
programs. But other than that, 10-20 GB for a properly managed server
is almost always more than enough (properly managed - your data always
lives on partitions other than C:)
