My question is should I load a full version of Vista over XP Pro like an
upgrade? I really don't want to wipe out my system and start over.

I have ran the Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisorand there are no
issues other than it says the version of IE that I'm using wont work Hum I
thought that it was the most current version out there.

Although a clean install does seem to work better, you can still do an
upgrade and get great performance and not lose any data.

Although, and this is a big tip: make sure you backup what you don't want to
lose. Occasionally, but not very often, the install can go bad and you have
to reformat anyway. So make sure you do a good backup and make sure the
backup is good, then do the upgrade. And Vista installs IE7 and all updates
anyway, so you don't need to worry about the version of IE.

Again: BACKUP! :) It is some of the best advice ever. Even if you never need
to use a backup in your life... There will somewhere, sometime, be that one
time when things go downhill. And it always seems to be the one time you
don't backup. Yes, I speak from experience!

Thanks for the advice, I have made a back up and backed it up the only thing
is I hate formating and starting over.

If it does go wrong them I will reload it fresh.
Hey I like the link to the Vista site very nice info...

Xp's IE is 6, unless you upgraded it to IE7(which is default for vista)

Have a look at your upgrade paths.
From XP Pro, you can only go the upgrade disk path to Vista Business or
Ultimate, NOT Home Premium

If you want Home Premium, full version.

I think I have made my mind up , I will buy another HDD and load a dual boot
then migrate all my stuff across, that was I can still function.
