Hello, I have a piece of hardware that will not work
with sp2 installed, does well with straight X P, there is
just no chance of the errors getting fixed by the mfr.
or anyone else. It's a capture card. Nice card.

I don't need sp2, except for usb 2 and larger
than 130 gig hard disk access. It's a standalone
box.

How do I install only these two features? Surely
if I knew which particular files to run, it could be
done...Yes?

I sure hope so. Thanks in advance.

Why do you need SP2 for those two things?

XP straight out of the box (the one I have anyway) can't
provide me with them. Only supports 137 gig or so, can't
run usb 2.0. I always get those caution messages using the
new disk install software (that windows won't go any bigger
without SP2), and the banged out usb 2.0 in device manager that. No drivers
loaded. I've always thought that one needs SP2 to get these features.

??

With the new usb 2.0 cards I have, they mention that you
must get usb 2.0 drivers from Mircrosoft. Which I haven't
been able to do separately from SP2, hence this question.

Thanks for the reply btw..: )

USB 2.0 should be supported by any Windows XP level - unless the cards you
have chose to only be supported in Windows XP SP2.
Can you not install even SP1? That gives you the 137+GB support for the
drives.
