I am trying ot install an epson printer (cc700) on windows xp.
I believe I have uninstalled the drivers, and at this point I know I
am supposed to have the printer plugged in but turned off, and when I
start the software it tells me to tur nthe printer on, at which point
the install new hardware wizard is supposed to appear and try to
install the driver that was provided by the software (overriding the
windows default). My problem is the install hardware wizard doesnt
appear, but I get a message tellng me that an unknown usb device has
been detected. if i click o nthe messaage a window with the usb ports
apppears, with one of them i nbold saying unknown device...
If i do nothing I get a window asking me if I want to continue, which
I do, and surprise, the pritner gets installed anyway (a lot of files
are copied adn it appears in my printer list), but it doesnt work. The
printer is enver found....
I should add I am doing this on a japanese machine, so I dont have the
exact translations of the messages that appear, but I am hoping that
we can figure this out anyway...
