Hello all,
I am trying to install Windows Vista Business Edition on my mom's new
computer. Specs: Core 2 Duo E6320 | ECS 945P-A (v3.0) | 2 GB DDR2 | GIGABYTE
GeForce 7300GT 256MB x16 PCI-Express | Old 120gb WD IDE drive w/ Windows XP |
New 160GB SATA drive (clean) | DVD+/-RW Drive w/ Lightscribe
When trying to upgrade, Windows copies files (through Windows XP) onto the
hard drive, reboots and then hangs right when the windows logo & loading bar
should start fading in, resulting in a very dark gray version of the loading
bar (w/ no motion). The same thing happens if I try to boot from the CD
(after it "Loads files").
I've tried to Enable Boot Logging & Safe Mode, but the log is never saved
and Safe Mode stops at "Loaded: \$Windows-BT(or something
similar)\Windows\system32\disk.sys"
There are no new BIOS versions for my mobo.
Any ideas? (or do you need more information?)
Thanks,
Brian
