I tried to install Vista RC1 on my PC and after the Product Key window I
receive the following error message: Windows cannot open the required file
E:\Sources\Install.wim is missing. Make sure all files required for
installation are available, and restart the installation. Errorcode:
0x80070570, I tried re-downloading , re-burning and also burning as slow as
I can and I keep getting the same exact error!!!

error i ran it on my pc and i got past the point where i get the error but i
would rather have it on virtual pc

No im trying to install it on a seperate partition... I didnt like virtual pc
the last time I used it... I burned it probably the same amount of times as
you and still getting the same error... I dont know what to do... I was
thinking about spending the 3 bucks and ordering the cd...

do ? please help me out

Unfortunately, no one knows any of the details of your problem since you are
not posting on a real forum as you think you are and you didn't quote any
of the thread to which you are replying. You are using a web interface that
leeches Usenet posts and most of the rest of us are using real newsreaders.
We don't see what you do. If you want to participate in Usenet, the better
way is to set up a newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you
information about that below. If you prefer to use a forum, then here are
two excellent ones:

Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really
a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use
a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use
Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.

Ok guys so first i had windows vista home premium then i downgraded to
windows xp now i upgraded to windows vista home premium again because my
mouse didn't work well. and also i upgraded it with a dell recovery cd
before i downgraded to xp i had Hp dv6000 laptop model # is dv6636nr
please help me guys i try to download burn .iso and boot it but i get
error with it how can i install vista back again?? :(

Do you seriously think the above is clear? All I get is that you used a Dell
XP install disk on an HP laptop. I'm surprised it worked at all. Contact HP
and purchase the recovery disks which you apparently neglected to create.
They are very inexpensive, around $20. Then you will be able to restore
your computer to factory condition.

If this is not an accurate response to your post, please try again and be
very clear. Using full sentences, bullet points or numbers, and paragraph
breaks are very useful. Remember that we cannot see your computer from here
or read your mind. You need to communicate clearly.

- OK GUYS so first i had windows vista home premium(wvhp)
- then i downgraded to windows xp
- then my mouse didn't used to work well in windows xp so i upgraded

- now i downloaded a windows vista disk (.iso) from the internet
- actually i downloaded it from
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/
- then i burned it and tried to install with it then i get an error
called
- E:\sources\install.wim has not found please prepare all the files
and then restart or something similar to that
- please help me how do i get back to my vista home premium hp
- model# is dv6636nr
- before i had wvhp installed on my laptop

That's a bit better. Thank you for taking the time to clarify things.

The download from Neosmart.net is *not* a Vista installation disk. It has
recovery tools on it and can therefore be used by people who don't have a
real Vista DVD. It's purpose is *only* to allow you to use Vista's recovery
tools. It is *not* a full Vista installation disk and that's why you can't
install Vista with it.

In order to get back to factory condition, you must do as I already told
you. Call HP tech support and order the recovery disks. As I said, they are
around $20. Then you will be able to restore your computer to factory
condition (Vista).

Bad image, faulty memory are both possible causes. In addition, the image
may not contain appropriate drivers for setting up the Dell system. Have her
spend a few bucks and call Dell for a replacement set of the appropriate
media disks.
