I made the mistake of installing close to 5000 fonts into the windows/fonts
folder & I never realized that it could make things runs slow, etc.

Now I'd like to remove all but the default system fonts but I don't know how
to do that or which ones they are.

If I delete all the fonts in the file will XP (SP2) automatically reinstall
the default fonts? Is there somewhere I could just download a windows/fonts
folder and replace mine with it?

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Note that there are some .FON files as well.

Which of these can I move to another folder {off the Start Menu} without
causing problems? My point is that I do not use more than four or five of
those fonts in normal operations and loading the others at startup is a
waste.

Try moving/removing all the other fonts that're not in the table. If that
improves the performance, I'd leave the remaining ones as it is.
