I tried doing a clean install of Vista last night but had some problems.
The install got about 3/4 of the way through and a blue screen popped up for
a couple seconds and then the computer rebooted. It started to boot into
Vista but then a window popped up saying it rebooted unexpectedly and the
install wasn't completed, click OK to reboot and restart the install.
The computer is home built. It has an Intel 945Gnt motherboard, which
according to Intel's website is Vista ready. No extra cards, I'm using the
video, sound, etc from the motherboard so it's pretty basic. It's been
running Server 2003 just fine for the last few months.
I'm not sure what the problem is. The blue screen didn't stay up long
enough to read. Does the install attempt to save the crash information in a
log somewhere on the drive? Anyone know where the log might be and what the
name is?
Thanks in advance.
