Please clarify what you mean by "install beta 2 over 1.1".
The two versions are separate products. If you install the .NET Framework
v2.0 (Beta), it will not replace v1.1. In addition, products designed to
work with v1.1, such as Visual Studio .NET 2003, will not work with v2.0
(Beta).
 
Beta 2 installs side-by-side with 1.1 instead of over it. They are, in many
ways, treated like separate products.
