install an application with a shortcut in the start menu with PPC2003

Hi all,

I want to add a shortcut of my application in the start menu folder, but
with the PPC2003 device is not possible, the shortcut is always put in the
programs folder.

I dont't know the reason of this mistake, with a PPC2002 device it works
fine.

I have tried various times to change my inf file, but I have not obtained
any result.
It doesn't neither work with the complete path "\Windows\Start Menu".
Why is it different the installation in the two OS?

I use an HP 5500 device.


[DestinationDirs]
Files.Common=0,%InstallDir%
Shortcuts = 0,%CE17%
or
Shortcuts = 0,"\Windows\Start Menu"

[Shortcuts]
MyApp,0,MyApp.exe

Does someone know a solution?

I'm a newbie here, but this is what I've found.

First make sure you use %CE17% in [Shortcuts], e.g.:
[Shortcuts]
Sleuth Mobile NCIC NM,0,Sleuth Mobile NCIC NM.exe,%CE17%

When I bought my HP 5555, it came with (the maximum) 9
items in the start menu. I found this out by trying to
manually add my program to the start menu through
Settings\Menus.

When I removed one, the installed my CAB again, my app
shows up in the start menu.

Hi Mike,
I have tried to insert %CE17% in [Shortcuts] without any result, perhaps I
think it can be a unusual BUG of hp 55xx series.
I would understand only the reason of this malfunctioning, or if I mistake
anything.
