What happens when you let the installation process complete?
You may want to re-run the office install, and make sure that all components
of PowerPoint are selected to run from the hard drive and not the CD.
There was one place I know where a network configuration required some
aspects of windows/office to install after a new user is detected. This will
sound silly, but have you opened Word? If not, go to Word and enter your
initials if it asks. Let it run thru the installation process. Close Word.
If this is a similar set-up, than you should not be bothered with this again
(until you use another computer).
