I am running Windows 98SE with Office 2000 and Windows Media Player 9. I am currently preparing a training presentation which includes an operational video. The video was originally a .mov file that has been converted to .wmv. When trying to insert this movie from file I get an error message about non standard format or Quick Time not installed properly. I do not have Quick Time installed since it is a Windows Media file. If I insert as an object I get a no driver error message
This process works on other computers one with Windows 2000 and one with windows XP. Is there a reson why this will not work on my computer.

Most likely it's your MCI settings, which reside in the system.ini and
windows.ini files. See
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm for a full
explanation. Section three covers the MCI settings.

I tried correcting the MCI settings but that did not seem to help. I had to update to Windows XP to correct this problem. Thanks for your help.
