i need to fill out a quit claim deed. i scanned the deed on my HP scanned
into microsoft word. I have windows xp. when I see the scanned quit claim
deed, I cannot type text. please help me fill out this deed. my handwriting
is very bad.

Please repost your question on a Word newsgroup. This newsgroup is for
a different program, Microsoft Access.

That said... a scanned image is just that, an *image*. As far as the
computer is concerned it's just black dots, not lines or words or
text. You may need to use it as a template, and use the rulers on the
Word screen to line up your text on the page so it will fall in the
right place; then print out the scanned form, and print your Word
document onto it.

Paperport, among other software packages will try to turn a scanned object
into a form. I have a version several years old and it does a fairly good
job.
You can also move, add and adjust text boxes.
