Inserting symbols shortcut

Is there a way to provide a shortcut to inserting symbols
in excel. I've only found the cut and paste from the
characer map. Anyone know how to add-in symbols to the
insert button?

You can use keyboard short cuts..

Also, I believe Chip Pearson has a utility that can be downloaded here
