The way I do on putting a graph made in Excel is through Insert/Object/from
files. I used to copy a chart in Excel and pasted into PPT by Edit/Paste
special.

Q1. Which way is better? My experience seems to tell me Inserted object.
Q2. If asked to put a chart as an embeded object, which is the one? Both? or
the Edit/paste special?

Thx

I think you'll have more predictable results copying what you want from
Excel then pasting or PasteSpecial into Powerpoint. If you insert object,
you don't get much control over what displays in PPT. By selecting the
SPECIFIC information first, you ensure that that's what PPT shows.

If you select the chart and copy/paste it into PPT, the result may depend
on the version of PPT you use. To be certain, choose Paste Special and
don't pick Link.

Thanks steve.

How about Q2? Are both 'inserted' and 'paste-specialed' an embeded object?

Thx

Maybe I am not clear.

1. Insert>Objects...>Create from file>[browse]....
2. Edit>Paste Special>[either Paste or Link]

Are the results both embeded? <== This is my question.

There is a new question.

new Q: What is the difference between (1) Excel Worksheet Object and (2)
Excel Chart Object? Why are they differenciated? There is even subselection
for 'convert...'.

Thx.
