I can no longer insert or hear the sound from wma-files in
my PPT-persentation. I have Win2000, PPT 2000 (9.0.2716).
Some days ago everything worked ok. I was stupid enough to
accept to download an upgrade of Window Media Player and
have now v 9.00.00.2980. I think i had v 7.x or 8.x
earlier whe everything worked ok.
I have read the document discussing PPT multimedia
referenced by Sonia Coleman, with no result (I have no
mplayer32.exe to test with).
Perhaps the new Mediaplayer has something to so with my
problems? I'm not aware of having performed any other
changes or downloads in the last month.
Can anyone help? Bjørn B., Oslo, Norway.

You say that you don't have mplay32.exe. That is installed by Windows and
would not be removed by Windows Media Player. Please double check. It will
be in your C:\Windows folder somewhere - - probably in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mplay32.exe. You need to find it so that you can test
the WMA.

Did you carefully check your MCI settings against the Registry listing in
the tutorial?
