I am trying to insert an AVI file into Powerpoint 2002. I don't want to
insert it as an object, but when I try as a movie clip I get an error
"Powerpoint cannot display this type of file". I installed powerpoint on my
laptop and using the same presentation and movie file was able to do it. Can
someone point me in the right direction. I had Realplayer on my Workstation,
but have removed that and reset my avi files to open with Windows Media
Player. The movie works when I open it with Media Player.

First thing to start with is checking your MCI Media Player settings and
testing the AVI in mplay32.exe (or mplayer.exe, depending on your
version of Windows). Also make sure you have the codec for the AVI
installed on the machine. See

info.
