Inserting movie from digital Camcorder

I've try to insert video clips into a Powerpoint
presentation, I've downloaded from my camcorder into my
cumputer. The video clips work on the computer, but not
in Powerpoint. The files extention are .avi type. How
do I fix this problem.

How about some information.

Is this a Windows computer?

If so what version?

Is this PowerPoint 4 or something a little newer?

Do you have any idea what codec the AVI file uses?

Was it a digital video camera or did you do a capture from analog?
