I have been trying to insert movie files into PowerPoint, but none of them have worked. The Quicktime movie dosen't display the movie, and AVI files don't even mount onto the card. What should I do. I am using PowerPoint version "9.0.2716" (couldn't find version name, like "PowerPoint 2000")

Version 9 is PPT 2000. (For future reference, Help/About will usually
show it.)

Quicktime and PPT don't play well together, so that doesn't surprise me.
http://www.indezine.com/products/powerpoint/ppquicktime.html has some
info on how to get QT to play in PPT.

Not sure what you mean about "AVI files don't even mount onto the card."
Are you getting an error message or anything when you try to insert an
AVI into PPT?

You might want to read
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/multimedia.htm#How This
explains how your MCI settings should look, talks about standard codecs,
and gives a test to see if the AVI plays in the MCI Media Player, which
is what PPT 2000 uses to play multimedia.

Read the whole thing, but pay special attention to section 3. I suspect
your registry/INI settings are out of whack, and those are explained in
section 3.
