I am using Outlook 2002. When I click the Insert File
button and go to the drop down box on the Insert button
there is no option to "Insert As Hyperlink". All other
options are available.

Can someone please tell me why?

Thanks

Because hyperlinks (lnk-files) are blocked by default as it a file that
could contain virusses. You can send zipped lnk-files though or copy and
past the addressbar from Explorer that leads to the file.

IIRC, you get that option only if the mail format is RTF. Why? I don't know.

Perhaps because Rich Text is used "indoors" more often where the Exchange
admins have removed the lnk-extension from the blocked list. Hmm... wild
guess of course but somewhere it makes sence... :-S
