Inserting data from an Access table into Word

How can I insert data from a single field of an Access table into a Word
document, selecting the record by any parameter?

I looked in the online Help section, but that advises to Insert a Database
using the Database toolbar; doing so inserts a table containing the entire
record (i.e. all fields from one record in the table), whereas I simply wish
to insert the contents of one field in that record.

I might add that I would like to build some kind of a macro function so that
I can do this multiple times (i..e load the contents of one field from
multiple records), without having to define the data source (and other
related steps) on each occasion.

How can one do this?
