What is the best Picture's ( Bitmaps ) DPI so it looks about the same size
on Word 2003
when embedded on the page?

I don't know what DPI Resolution Word uses for the pictures.
I want to make a 5 X4 picture on Corel, and for example look the same
on Word when I embedded on the page, they look different size
I am very sure is the DPI of the Picture.

Looks like around 90 DPI, but I am not sure.

Thanks

Hi Orlando

Unfortunately there are so many variables to this kind of
question that it's difficult to just give you a simple
answer. Especially for Corel, where you can output a
zillion and one different image formats, image physical
size and DPI for your case are unrelated (i.e. you can
specify an image size and still have varying dpi
resolutions)

Images and image sizes are generally interpreted
differently by various applications. What you see as 100%
in Corel is not going to appear the same at 100% in word
for example.

As a guideline, use 72dpi output for screen based
graphics. For high resolution prints, use 300dpi.
Generally, 96dpi is used as a Windows intermediate
resolution that gives you good enough printability
without blowing file size out of proportions.

Since you're using Word to paste/import your image, I'd
suggest you use 72dpi (also set 1:1) when exporting from
Corel. This should give you something fairly close across
both applications.

Best of luck,
Dennis

Thanks, I was testing this once and by mistake I got my hands on a picture
that displayed perfect on Word, at that instance, I noticed about the DPI.

However I loss that sample, and I don't remember the DPI, if I take any
picture
and saved with that DPI, it will show almost perfect on Word.

I think was 90, 91 or something like that.

Now checking around I confirm that the screen dpi is 72.

So I guess if we found the Word's Page DPI witch will be based on
printing that page, then you could at any time take a picture
and chance the dpi. I can do this in Corel, and I guess you could
with many other program.

Tanks......
