Inserting background image

I'm trying to insert a large A4 sized image into my spreadsheet as
background image. I want it to be behind the grid lines so I can stil
enter data into the cells. However, I also want the image to b
printable.

The image is actually of a table, which I wish to use as a guide for m
grid lines in Excel... How would I go about this?

I have posted on this before, and was told to go to Format > Sheet
Background, which works, but the image turns out much too large fo
some reason. And tiled. I don't want that

Sorry, this may sound stupid, but how do I insert the image as
watermark

choose Format - Sheet - Background
navigate to where your graphic is saved and insert

you should be able to print it out with the background image.
