Inserting Attachments Problem With Outlook 2003

Problem : When I try to insert an attachment Outlook hangs . This occurs only
when I try to browse to sub folders e.g. sub folders on the Desktop or sub
folders within the My Documents folder. I've reinstalled MS Office but this
has not fixed the problem. The PC is running Windows XP. Thanks for any
advice.
