I am creating a table and want to attach comments to some
of the numbers in the table and include an explanation
below the table. I seem to remember there is a way to
insert a note/asterix/number in the top right corner of a
cell containing a number for explanation purposes.

I don't want to use the "comment" function as this can
only be seen on the screen a not in the printout. Adding
an extra collum close to the number and using this to
insert a superscript would solve the problem, but the
other funtion would be more usefull.

Hope some of you know this function and can help.
Thanks,
Stephen

Hi Stephen
comments can be seen in your printout: Goto 'File - Pagesetup - sheet'
and choose your comment option from the listbox

Hi Frank,

Appreciate your help. I don't think I have worded my
problem correctly. My problem is that I just want to add a
superscript number/asterix to various number formatted
cells in a table in order to be able to make
referels/remarks to that particular cell.

Rgds
Stephen

Hi Stephen
don't think there's such option like 'footnotes' in Excel. If you add
text to a cell you can't use it for your calculations anymore. So
comments are the way to go (IMHO)
