Inserting a physical line (not a data line) above a report subtota

My report (Access 2007) shows several individual dollar figures followed by a
calculated subtotal in a group footer. I would like to set off subtotal with
a physical line above it (equivalent to an underline following the last
individual dollar figure). I thought this might be controlled with the
Gridline Style Top property but despite repeated efforts I have not been able
to get it to the report.

Just add a line control above the subtotal text box.
