in a powerpoint 2003 presentation, I inserted a movie clip as an avi file,
converted from a vob file. The clip can play in windows media player, but in
powerpoint, I can only get the audio and no video. Any suggestions? Is there
a different format the movie should be in?

not yet - I was thinking I should do that. Thanks - I will let you know.

Have you try to transcode your film into wmp?

I have converted the movie into a wmv file, and it plays when I am previewing
the slide in ppt, but when I run the slideshow, it won't play and skips to
the next slide. Any suggestion? Is wmv different than wmp?
thanks.

I just figured it out - the slide transition was too short.
