I would like to have a link from a presentation to an
application.

The presentation I am currently working on has screen
shots of an application to discuss functionality/processes.

I would like to have a link in the presentation that will
enable me to go directly to the application and do a live
demo of the concepts just discussed with the aid of the
screen shots.

I am aware of the alt + tab approach but was wondering if
there was another approach?

Try the help file. But in case u cant find it...just cre8
a hyperlink...any it doesnt matter..then go to slide show
menu up top in you toolbar and go to action settings.
Then go to run program...that should do it. You may want
to consider the pp help file for more options.

You can right click on any PowerPoint object (including a shape or the
picture which is your screen shot) and choose Action Settings. Choose
Other File and pick the file you want to open. If the file is in the
same folder as the PowerPoint presentation, the link should continue to
work even if you move the folder to another computer.
