PP 2007. Using Mountain design. I want to insert a picture from file that is
a .gif. Not an animated .gif but one with no background, just the foreground
image. I have created this .gif but when I insert it, it comes in with its
own white background.

How can I insert this graphic with NO background, just the foreground image???
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the background of your image is transparency?

Maybe the white background is your foreground?

You can be try to delete your foreground.

Like Lucy says, PNG would be the image of choice. You cannot have a
transparent background using a GIF file

If it's a solid white color all through that needs to be removed,
PowerPoint's Set Transparent Color option might work for you?

[cough cough] Beg to differ, Kap'n Koerner, sir.

GIFs can have a single transparent color and if they do, PPT respects
it.

But begging to agree, sir, PNGs are still a better bet.

But it's worth trying this first: insert the GIF, use the transparency
tool to turn the white bit transparent.
