Inserting a DVD formatted clip in Powerpoint 2002

There were/are a few companies that offered add-ins to play a DVD in PPT -
many limitations due to "spin-up" time of DVD drive. One I use is not
available any longer. Best bet is to convert to an MPEG clip and then insert
that.
